In June 2021, Valor 2 Virtue sponsored the Diani Sea Turtle Festival, supporting the festivals art and craft competition. This is the second time the festival has been held and Valor 2 Virtue hope to be part of this important annual event.
Sea turtles play an important role in the marine environment, but are sadly declining in numbers due to manmade threats such as plastic pollution, overfishing and poaching, to name a few. We need to everyone to play their part in saving this animal and this will only happen through such events as the sea turtle festival, as it helps create awareness of this beautiful reptile! The festival is incredibly important as provides a free, fun and educative day for all that attend. Furthermore, the festival funds students to attend, with 200 students attending in 2021. All activities and competitions are completely free for all. The sole purpose of the festival is to instill passion for sea turtles amongst the Kwale community!
