The Kenyan coastline is a mosaic of ecosystems and many are found in the Indian Ocean. This beautiful coastline offers coral reefs, mangrove forests, sea-grass and beautiful white sandy beaches. Which in turn attracts tourists from all over the world. This heavily impacts the wildlife and the communities that rely on these ecosystems, including wild sea turtles through to the giant whale sharks and humpback whales. Valor to Virtue will be working closely with organizations along the coast to help protect this critical resource, protecting turtle nesting sites, working with communities and exploring alternative livelihoods to reduce the pressures of overfishing and other damaging behaviors.
